Faded plastic parts on my red SVX
The red plastic parts between the mirrors and the windows and the rear plastic where the SVX logo is mounted have faded to a pinkish color. Is there anything I can do to bring the color back? Do I have to replace or repaint them?

You can buff the hell out them and the color will return or you will go through the remaining paint and have to repaint them anyway. Its worth a shot.
If you try to buff them, do it by hand starting with a fast cut rubbing compound, then a medium, then a fine, then a polishing, then a microfinishing, etc. If there is enough paint left to come back, wax them often. That will *help* slow the process of chalking or you can clear coat them and they will last a very long time. If you do need to repaint them, please take them off the car to do it. It will be MUCH more work, but it will provide the best results and be cheaper for a body shop to paint since they do not have to tie up their spray booth with a whole car. But take the car there so they can match the paint color exactly. Paint codes are almost never accurate. Doug
