So when does fuel cut occur?

....On a 5 speed SVX.....when will it cut off? I dont plan on hitting it ever, i'm but im more intersted.

I know that in an auto, it is AFTER 7,000. Before I had to get my tranny rebuilt it didn't shift right while I was flooring it and my rpms shot up to about 7,000, then my tranny cought, hard, and I lost grip on all 4 wheels for a long time. (raining) Pretty much like a neutral drop going 50

I ment at what RPM does the computer cut fuel to the engine? Beav do you have any clue?

I knew what you were talking about. I just wanted to share that it doesn't do that before 7,000. That was supposed to be the intended redline by the way (http://www.subarusvx.com/articles/article2.html).

I had a good look through the manual, but it does not give a clue. The gear change takes place "at 6800 to prevent over revving", it says. 7000 sounds reasonable as any flaring on the gear shift would allow it to rev higher than 6800. So there would have to be some rev space over 6800.

Guess we will have to wait for you to try it out

Ya i guess we will....i dont intend on really hitting fuel cut at all though, just was curious! Ive never seen the tourqe curve for our engines
