SVX Roll Cage

Ok so I'm trying to find pictures and/or schematics on roll cages that have been done on the SVX I know the pace car had one but all the pics I've found only show the dash and don't really show how they did the roll cage. I know they did it sleekly and I'd like to do mine the same way. I know a few other members have done one but I can't seem to find the pics via search here or . Anyone able to help me with this???

Re: SVX Roll Cage

The pace car "Roll cage" was hidden behind all of the Trim pieces...
Also, it's not that hard to build a roll cage. There aren't any schematics needed. Just need to find out the requirements for any event type stuff you are thinking of entering as far as how they meet and how your welds must be, but other than that, the cage just has to go in the same places as it would in any car...

Re: SVX Roll Cage

I can't seem to find the link for the company who made ours but they have all the dimensions for making an SCCA legal 10 point weld in. The SVX does not lend itself well to a proper cage, it was definately a tough project to do and to do one properly for a street car would be nearly impossible. The cage in the pace car would not be up to any current race standards. Maybe Hocrest will know the name of the place.

Re: SVX Roll Cage

there's an issue u may wanna consider. not every car is gonna share the same dimensions as factory over the years of use it will change a bit, some of my friends ran into that issue with their RCs

If you get the one from Autoweld, you don't get a cage, you get a pile of prebent/pre cut steel. So minor changes in the chassis will be compensated for when you assemble and weld it in the car.

Re: SVX Roll Cage

I also am pretty sure a cage for a Camaro could be made to fit from the measurements I took years ago.
