I hate to tell you, it sounds almost exactly the same as stock. I took mine out and it didnt make any noticeable change in tone or throatiness.

Re: Request!!: Soundfile Intake Resonator Delete

Why does it say in the link that you send:

Removing the intake resonator will lead to a more agressive sound then?.....

If you mean that mess of plastic piping inside the right fender.
I removed mine and it is noticeable to me, but only under WOT.

Here is a 1min video:

Re: Request!!: Soundfile Intake Resonator Delete

if you changed the intake to all metal tubing like the ebay cold airs you get a diff sound, you can hear the air passing through the metal.

Thanks very much for the video.
Did you install a sportairfilter in the original housing?
Or is it a standard filter.....

Thinking about a Intake resonator delete with an STI filter installed...

You mean metal pipe here like this?

Or you mean like metal pipe with cone filtered aka hot air intake?

I ask because I have piece of aluminum pipe I could make like that pic that keeps the stock air box.
I just figured it wouldn't do anything. If it will, I'll get out my saw.

Normal paper filter.
Stock everything. I just took the plastic crap out of the fender.

I just mean taking the intake resonator out, that is mounted inside the richt fender. I would like to know if someone knows, if the STI sportairfilter again increases the intake sound when you combine it with the intake resonator delete......

Re: Request!!: Soundfile Intake Resonator Delete

I highly doubt that changing to a high flow filter while retaining the stock air box would make much of a difference in sound.

Yes, but if the intake resonator is removed, I AM changing the standard airbox.........by removing the intake resonator...

You're also potentially <screwing up your MAF readings>, but if that's your bag... jump in!

My car I have removed the stuff in the fender. I have retained stock everything else. I have paper filter.
If you do the exact same thing, and just use a high flow filter, its going to sound just like my video with the paper filter.
Once air gets under the hood, the sound is muffled by the air box along with all that plastic pipe.

If you want it sound loud, then you need Short Ram aka Hot air intake, ala ebay style piece bent aluminum pipe with a cone filter under the hood.

Which everyone will tell you is bad, except for noise.
