how to remove sunroof

i'm trying to remove the sunroof on my parts car, is it possible to take it off when it closed? there's not power harness to the car so i cant open it. any input would be nice.

If you can get to it's wires then you'll be able to jump it with a regular car battery and open it that way.

Yea when I helped get one out of a parts car we had to put in a battery and open it, wouldn't come out otherwise. I'm sure you're industrious enough to figure something out.

use a standard car battery. Get 10ft+ test leads. Hook it directly to the wiring for the sunroof. One way will power it to close while hooked up opposite should open it.

Can't you use the Allen wrench normally used to manually crank it closed in an emergency?

confirmed, allen wrench can manually open the sunroof, worked amazing with air ratchet thanks

could not find the "push pins" the how-to document was talking about so i just took the whole assembly out lol its very quick and simple.

Anyone want to do a sunroof conversion on their car?

92 teal, paints really good i think there's 1 or 2 tiny rust specs starting to form, i can send u a pic if u want. I also have a blue one from a GC impreza, also CONFIRM they are a direct fitment.

Ah, so it's not from one with a black top then. I have a spare sunroof to replace mine (only rust spot on the car), but it's ebony mica black rather than the plain glossy black that the roof of my pearly is. I was hoping yours was a plain glossy black and we could trade

I might be able to help you out with that if interested. It would just have to wait until I get my 2nd parts car completely disassembled.
