pipe
To all and anybody,
Bought a set of goodridge pipes to upgrade the flexi hoses, but just in case the flared nuts are not servicable, could anyone please tell me, is the metal pipe work metric or A/F ? ......in case I need to buy a tool. John |

As far as I know, they would be metric.

I wouldn't expect anything imperial on any Jap cars, even things like brake caliper pistons at 50.91 mm............ which sounds awfully like a metric 2 inches !!!! Good luck with the hoses John. Phil.

I've just replaced the CV boots on the f/o/s drive shaft, and that was a doddle...and no Mal, didnae find any 13mm nuts...everything else but!
What I thought would be easy looks a little more 'taxing', thought I had all the right tools but had to buy a 10mm for the flare nut, whilst looks in very good condition for 15 years of sand and salt, doesn't look like it wants to part. Just dont want start hacking and adding in new bit of pipe Thanks for the advise Guy's I will post my results...soon John |

job done....
Pipes now fitted, tried and tested.
Got my self a 'professional' grade flare nut spanner (10mm) and with aid of WD40 the nuts came away a treat. Eventually got info from the parts guy at my subaru dealer, and was told the pipe is metric (as I suspected) 4.78mm, which is most likely 3/16" Much better feel to the pedal, but you still have to use both feet , with a complete overhaul of the brakes, seems to have helped too. Still no 13mm nuts Mal So impressed with this car, for a 15 year old it was like dismatling a two year old it's that fresh....says a lot about the build quaulity John |
