Welcome Barry

Looks like the New Zealanders are giving the Aussies a run for their money.

Welcome to the Network Barry. I hope you find it comfy here. Don't be shy. Post soon and post often.

Don't worry, we are trying are best!!

Even when on a tight schedule, even when a girlfriend is waiting, even when we are ready to pass out from hunger, no matter where we are or where we go, we will chase an SVX to recruit.

*stands and hums the SVX anthem....not sure what it is but hums nonetheless*

As moderator, I have set it up to be notified when new members arrive. Barry signed on as a new member on the 12th, but appears to have gone missing. BARRY! Come back, we need you!

Barry 3?

Larry
We can't officially have a Barry iii, as we've misplaced Barry i.

And how can he be called Barry if he is a Kiwi? I thought all Australians were called Barry, except the sheelaghs maybe.

Trevor or James, any idea of how many SVXs made it to NZ??

Joe

I think, although may be wrong, that the SVX was never sold new in NZ and only came in as a grey import. If that is the case, then no telling how many but I will say that the auto classifieds show a lot more for sale than in OZ.

The links are on my home PC so I wil upload them when I get home.

Regards

James

SVX in NZ

As far as I know there were a few sold new in NZ.

An old racing mate of mine had one and I understood he purchased it new. I will check with him and will 'phone Subaru NZ if the data is of real interest.

Subaru as brand do very well here and statistically is the most stolen car! Incidentally I have an FF1 sports sedan, the FF1 1100 & 1300's being the first models sold here in 1971.

SVX down under

and in NZ.

Trevor, it would be worthwhile if you could find how many were sold new in NZ, from your friend, or the main agent, whatever.

A decent long-term project would be to attempt to find how many original imports went to each market. Certainly the rhd ones should be easy to trace.

Starting with the domestic Japan market, next in line would be you boys in OZ and NZ. Don't know if Hong Kong and Singapore are rhd, does anyone else?

After this we could check out S Africa. Then UK and Ireland. Ireland is easy, there were no original imports.

That's it for rhd. Then the bulk of lhd sales went to the US. Probably a good few went to Germany and France. We know some are in Austria and Belgium. Reckon the club could track down 90+% of them.

Joe, you must be reading my mind!!

That has been a pet project of mine for some time now...i wanted to add it to my website.

I agree...it should be acheivable to obtain the statistics.....we could pester Subaru HQ in each of our respective markets!!!

Regards

James
