SVX Australian Service Manuals

As we will be here for a while, we have been thinking of getting rid of bits and pieces back home.

One of the items I was THINKING of selling, depending on what people think, is the full set (1992-97 including supplements) of the Subaru Service Manuals for the SVX.

Any thoughts on what I should be asking?

Thanks

James

Ditto. I'd say at least clear a hundred. Conservative.

Whar price knowledge?

I find the set priceless, there is nothing that can go wrong with my SVX that I can't fix because of the service manuals. Seeing that they cost around $270 odd, and are no longer advailable, I think you should put them on Ebay and get their real value.

Harvey.

Excellent point Harvey....the more I think about it, they are pretty much irreplaceable so I may just hold onto them

If I decide to put them up on ebay, I will post it here

Cheers

James

Really?

JDW-SVX tried to get a set and was told that no longer available.

You also got them cheaper than we paid!

yes really

was told that they where not availiable at first then was talking to some guy in Darwin who has a half cut svx for sale and he had just recieved a set from dealer in darwin so asked my dealer to get serious and try a bit harder. If you want a set and are not getting the right answers ring United Subaru Adelaide they got them in for me.

I would like a full set, but they probably will not try too hard for somebody from Ireland.

Anybody Down There who can get me a full set, I will pay $190, plus $50 commission, plus I pay postage to Ireland.

I can pay by PayPal, or whatever suits.

Joe

Can talk to United

I will drop in and see them monday and see what they can do for you if they can get some more i will order a couple more sets for those whose dealers are less focused but i have been assured that they are definetly still availiable so it shouldnt be a problem. Paypal no problem. I could also spend some time at the photo copier if there are a few interested. 6 books to set so it would take some time but can be done. I am a bit phased wyh the dealers all seem to be a bit un-interested when it comes to work shop manuals especially as the dealer i use doesnt work on SVX's. As i said they said no first time then after the guy in Darwin told me had recently purchased a set i tried again and they got them for me from OS so they just tried a bit harder. I will dig out the reciept and find the part numbers that may help also. Anyway you are all 1 up on me as i am still waiting for motor to be sent the sod has gone to USA and will send when he gets back. I am getting SVX withdrawel sypmtons. Bugga!! I may have to drive up to QLD to pick up if he doesnt get back soon. Dont fancy the trip in a AU 1 tonner with no cruise cntrl and missing the SVX's luxuries. Plus the thing likes to slurp large quantities of petrol. Even with this new vaporade fuel saving device [dont waste your money] fuel consumption has dropped from 15.4lt per 100 to 14.6lt per 100 round town so it will take along time to pay back the $350 investment to fit. Looks like gas is the only way to go.

Thanks down under. I much appreciate that.

If you can get me the full set, I am ready to go. I have the US set, and to be fair, it is very good, except for the differences in market models.

Most of them are not too critical, but when it gets to wiring, and the wiring looms for the gearbox which can be very different, then the US one is less useful.

If you can source me the correct RHD manuals, I will put my US ones up on eBay as soon as I have the correct ones.

Thanks again, let me know what the delivery situation is.

Joe
