...my three page article on drag racing an SVX - got some help from Svxfiles on it. I actually submitted it twice - the first time I had the article, and the second I sent three pics!

Great, I'll take a look at the submission later. If the 2 articles are the same I'll delete the one without the attached images.

I just took a look at the 2 submissions. What would be best is if you could resubmit the article with the pictures attached. It didn't look like you specified where you wanted the pictures to go.

Thanks, I've already added the HTML to the article. I'll insert the pictures and find a home for it once I get home from work. I'll probably create a new category.

I actually moved the article yesterday. It's in the General Information category in the troubleshooting section. I hope the pictures are in the right order.

I'm currently thinking of giving the troubleshooting section a new name so that I can fit more information there about the SVX not relating to troubleshooting and not worrying that it may seem out of place.

I need a "catch-all" section. Anyone have a suggestion?

I've been putting a lot of effort into this project. Lately, changes have been to mod pages as well as the feedback system.

I'm currently working on storing attached files/photos in the database as opposed to just on the hard drive. This helps to eliminate duplicate filename issues. Each uploaded file will also support descriptions (just like our personal lockers) to help the mods sort out where each image belongs on the page.

Eventually I'll post screenshots of what all the "backend" pages look like for those who are curious.

Ok, so I believe I have all the issues with uploading files taken care of. All new articles with attached files will be stored in the database so duplicate filenames are no longer an issue.

Each file will have an associated description (just like the personal lockers). The description will help the mods determine where in the article the file belongs.

I've also moved some of the links that used to be in the title frame into the SVXipedia (where they belong).

I strongly encourage feedback on the SVXipedia as I would like to keep the information up to date as well as user friendly. All comments are welcome!

hmmm...no comments on my last post.

Well here's another update for those who haven't noticed yet. You can now search the SVXipedia!

Granted it's not a very smart search yet but that's something I have to work on. It doesn't search on popularity and doesn't sort the results yet but these are all plans for the future. It's still very effective right now though.

Right now it's an exact search so whatever you put in the search box will be exactly the string it will search for.

Searches that work:

power steering
tps
bearings

Searches that won't work (yet):

power+steering
"power steering"
power and steering

Basically what I have to do is write a function to analyse the search criteria and search exactly what you're looking for.

The SVXipedia will be down due to relocation sometime after Sept 15. I finally bought a house of my own and officially take posession on that day.

I'll have to get my DSL service moved to the new location followed by the servers.

As the date gets closer I get more excited. I'm not sure if I'll be changing my Internet service or not. I'm thinking of upgrading to a business account (5mbit) from a normal residential account (3mbit).
