Thumbs up For what my $0.02 is worth...

...I really like the inclusion of a Maintenance Meet with any and all events, before during or after...

There just seems to be no end to the cute, little proclivities of our "chosen marque", eh?

Seriously, I was most impressed with the event I attended at Earl's last Spring: it seemed to me that a whole lot of people got a whole lot done, and a whole lot of knowledge and experience was given and received.

This is what truly distinguishes this group from OH! so many others, IMHO.

Cheers!

Norm

p.s. I, for one, don't object to a drive to the Emerald City area, as the demographics just seem to make sense to me.

We are going to have another maintenance meet this Spring. We all had a great time, got lots done, and learned lots too.

What Earl said.

The maintenance meet (as well as just about every other major event we've tried so far) is definitely an annual thing now.

But Norm does have a good idea of doing a bit of it "on the side" during the other events as well. That was sorta the plan for Fall Colors Tour this year, we had orginally worked in plans for three days of events, with the tour being on Saturday and Friday evening and Sunday open for more informal gatherings, maintenance, etc. It just didn't turn out that anyone wanted to do that (most that came were fairly local) so we didn't, but we could have.

I can't speak for every location we might have an event, but definitely any time we have one in the Puget Sound area there is a chance of doing something like that. I know Earl is usually willing to host a pre or after gathering at his place and I have a big, dry garage as well.

Like Earl was saying a bit earlier in this thread, sometimes it is nice to gather at a garage in smaller groups outside of the big maintenance day so a few people can focus on more of their issues at the time they need to.

But of course for the minor things, and general knowledge, the big one in the spring is great fun!

Thumbs up MINI MEEEEEEEET ! ! !

1. Gameworks
2. Maintenance meet (we can do this in a small group and do a couple things that are needed.)
3. Snow Meet (It wouldn't be any fun unless Gargoyle attended)
4. Olympia - Bud Bay Cafe
5. Ski / Snowboarding / Hot Chocolate meet at Steven's Pass - Or anything that has to do w/ snow for that matter

I'm up for all of these so far.

"Plan it and they will come"

This car club rules btw

Most of you may be following the "sticky" thread on the upcoming banquet in January, and it looks like we may be at that point of being able to plan a couple of extra activities around that weekend to make it a full blown 2 1/2 day event.

Look over that thread and look over this thread and then let's see if a few local members can get some discussion going on putting something together and making it official.

I figure if at least one or two local members commit in stone to being at something they put together, then the others will fall in line. The goal is to extend out the activities so it is more than just the 4 or 5 hours of banquet/car show for those coming from distances - and of course more fun for the locals as well.

You can read all about it in the other thread, but what we looking for would be possibilities for Friday evening, Saturday morning/early afternoon, Sunday.

Also looking for volunteers to play host to anyone that wants some free lodging for Friday and/or Saturday night(s).

Post comments here or the other thread, or email/PM me if you want to do it offline first.

DNel and I have still been kicking around the thought of a Mystery Meet. It would be similar to a rally, but using clues and check points and ending up at an event at the end.

1. Gameworks
2. Maintenance meet (we can do this in a small group and do a couple things that are needed.)

another mini-meet

the idea that started this thread was the mini-meet at the triple XXX last fall. with that in mind, i'm thinkin' that another one in february would be good. anyone ever been to the Armadillo Barbeque in Woodinville? this is my current thought, hence suggestion #11 below:

1. Gameworks

11. Mini Meat Meet @ the Armadillo!

Hey Nick, you were on TV Saturday night!

Well, just one TV, and it was at the banquet. You and Earl were fixing your steering O-ring.

Hope all is well down south!
