Knock on wood, but not EVERYWHERE in Washington do you have to worry about all this. I used to have to get the test when I lived in Redmond, but not any more. Not sure if it is because I am not in King County anymore, or if it is based more on a city or something (Monroe is kinda small and in the middle of not much).

If you go to the Redmond emissions test station, they only have a single axle dyno, so they skip all the "load" tests on your AWD vehicle(s).
It's easy to pass that way. Same thing down in South Hill (Puyallup). My GSX wouldn't have passed under load. hehe... passed like a champ since i told them it was AWD an they skipped all the dyno tests. (Don't mention you have a FWD fuse...)
