Time to step it up!

All,

With the Reading meet coming up, how many people are seriously planning on attending? The number of hotel reservations made so far would seem to indicate one of two things - 1. not many folks are going to attend, or 2. everyone is waiting until the last minute to make their reservations.

FYI to everyone that #2 applies to -- APRIL 11 is the cut off date for getting the special SVX meet rate. After that date, you're on your own when it comes to the room rate.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this year!

Bill (attending this year in a new - to me - SVX!)

I guess so far there has not been much motivation to do either. At this moment, I believe number 1 is more likely. When I was doing the rooms, we had a lot more commitments this close to the meet. The only thing that we worried about was how good the weather was going to be.

Usually by now, We know more about the activities or events planned. There has been NO updated information on the status of such things as scenic drives, rallies, raffles, tech sessions, autocross, group dinner, and the like. Members need to be informed in order to make the choice to attend

Although we don't have the Pace Car or raffling off an SVX, there should be something special about Reading 15. Just as quiet over on Facebook, where we were told updates would be. I would hate to see this Reading have the lowest attendance in its history.

As a member said to me a few years ago. "What are we gonna do? Stand around in a parking lot all day and look at each other. Drink and tell the same stories?"

Regarding the 2nd indication, at the same number of days away from Reading 10, we had 30 members with reservations.
See http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...0&postcount=64

At this rate, with aging SVX's and a diminished enthusiasm, there may not be a Reading 20.

At the urging of more than one member, including Jerry at the Holiday Inn, I think it is time to get back into the game and handle some of this again. Not the same sitting on the sidelines, now that the new knee is fine.

LET ME MAKE ONE THING REAL CLEAR TO YOU... THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF PLANNING GOING ON IN THE BACKGROUND.

There is such thing as a planning committee and to be honest we have had a few setbacks but it is not my place to bring that to the table.
