Aluminum Skid Plate

Curious if anyone has custom made a skid plate for the SVX similar to the SSI skid I have seen around for the STi. I have been toying with the idea of having my fabricator model one up from the stock plate, however, it would be much easier if there is already one fab'ed up!

Re: Aluminum Skid Plate

I haven't made one for the SVX yet, but I will- I fabbed up a front one for my RS, and then later this rear one:

I tend to run things over on the highway on the way to work, because MA highways are apparently garbage dumps. Chairs, bumpers, rugs, plywood, stray charcoal grills, etc. are not uncommon.

From the looks of it, a front SVX plate shouldn't be too terrible, but it's going to have to wait for warm weather and the 4 feet of snow to melt first .

That might lower your cd.

Always a good thing.

Especially since the CD of an old school 2.5 RS is about equivalent to the side of a barn ! They still look sexy though .

Re: Aluminum Skid Plate

I have a heavy duty sump guard that's been on my car for about 5 years. You need to be carfull how its mounted as you can damges the power steering lines or the O2 sensors.
Mine is made from heavy aluminium plate. Also the front has to tuck under the bottom of the skirt other wise it will grab and fold back.
