Cool Re: SUBARU in New-Zealand.

Yes - we have a love with Subaru's down under - ion NZ I would say that between 12-15% of all cars are Subaru's

What say the rest of you Kiwi's & Aussie's

Re: SUBARU in New-Zealand.

Subaru is HUGE in Australia and New Zealand.

In NZ, there is a mix of "NZ" models and Japanese imports. I have never seen so many models.

I fear that with the release of the 2010 model of Legacy/Liberty etc (READ: UGLY/BLAND) that sales will diminish in Australia.

Re: SUBARU in New-Zealand.

Diffently very popular. Just about see every 5th car you seein Christchurch is a Subaru.
Go to summer a beachy area in christchurch every 2nd car is a Subaru. I used to go to a brakey in Redcliffs ( its very close to summer ) I would count how many Subarus that would pass. I counted about 50 in 15mins.

Re: SUBARU in New-Zealand.

Agreed.

What is more, the average N.Z. mechanic and repair shop is well clued up on the breed. It is not necessary to rely only on specialist dealers. Second hand parts are in good supply.

In contrast to what I have been told here, N.Z. transmission specialists know their stuff in respect of Subaru transmissions. I trust their judgement.

Hoooooray.

Which, unlike our northern hemisphere folks... is now.

NZ sounds nice this time of year, compared to the nearly weekly snow storms my SVX has been driving through.

Good to hear that Subarus are so well supported there.

Re: SUBARU in New-Zealand.

It is quite normal to be stopped at a red traffic light with a 2 Subarus in front of you and another behind.

Where I work there is 9 people and 3 of us have Subarus..............2 x Legacy and 1 x SVX.

And going out on a limb, I would say that NZ is the birthplace of the successful Subaru rally car with Possum Bourne.

As an aside, I get paid mileage as well because I use my car for work, am I the only person paid to drive my SVX as a 'company car'?

Yes he was pretty much started as one of the 1st of the 555 rally team.

Actually he would be the 1st factory backed Subaru Rally car Driver.

His 1st was a 1982 or 83 Subaru Twin Carb RX Coupe, then got the 1985 RX sedan, Then the 1989ish RS Legacy Fitted with a 6spd
