A couple years ago, GM showed the Saturn Sky concept. It went largely unnoticed because, in my opinion, it was ugly. It seems that GM totally restyled it based on a Vauxhall concept - the VX Lightning. Figure that GM killed two birds with one stone - they got rid of styling nobody liked while building a car they can easily rebadge as a Vauxhall for Europe.

But regardless of the styling, it's still a Saturn. They say so. As far as I know, the platform is American developed and manufactured. Will it be shared with European models? Undoubtably, I would expect.

Yeah and a Saab 9-2 is really a Saab. I was thinking it was Vauxhall but then got confused and thought Vauxhall was part of Ford.

My point is just that they borrowed the Vauxhall styling - the car is based off a Pontiac, it just looks like a Vauxhall.

i think the front end is too busy looking. i Photochopped (very quickly and sloppily ) the upper grill (with nasty chrome strip) off, and rounded off the lower openings near the fog/driving lights (lines were too sharp on a curvy car), and it looks a hell of a lot better - like a little Carrera GT!

The Sky is not the limit

I think it looks great. Autoweek showed another new Saturn....Astra or something like that....that looked VERY nice, inside and out. Hey, a dose of Europe can't hurt. I wish they would bring the RS Focus over here from Europe to take the place of the late SVT. The press couldn't say enough good things about the SVT, but they just didn't sell. I guess the RS wouldn't either.

If you can wait just a bit longer after prodcution starts...
"6 months after the production of the Saturn SKY, GM will introduce a Saturn SKY Redline, which will be powered by a turbocharged 253HP 2.0L Ecotec engine."

I know my dad really wants one... and I'm not complaining!

Too bad it's not mid-engine like the Vauxhall/Opel though.
