Exclamation metal in engine!

well, it's my own fault i guess but i made my own tornadoes for my intake and mounted them right before the throttle bodies in the airbox with one for each throttle body. they worked pretty good for the low end but when itook the box off, one of the blades was MISSING! it went into the passenger side of the engine and it happened after a fast run with a stratus r/t a few weeks ago. after the run i started missing a cylinder for about one minute then it just started running fine again. theres been no problems since then so it must have spit it back out. i thought it was one of my coils till i took the box off yesterday and saw the missing blade. do you think it hurt anything? it seems to be fine but i'm worried.

I would guess that it did hurt something, but how serious it is would depend on how thick and how much metal went in. I'm pretty sure these "tornado" devices have come up in discussions before, and if I remember right, they offered little to no improvement and now you know the risks.

the metal was very thin and quite small actually. it was made of the top of a food can. i cut it into 10 pieces that all stayed connected in the middle. it looked like a turbine pretty much. so you can figure it was pretty small. it runs just fine and all the plugs were ok when i took them out and gapped them out 5/1000. btw, i'm running my plug gaps at .048 and the mileage and power is better and the idle is smoother too just so everyone knows.

It is probably lodged in the intake somewhere. It can't really pop out of there. I'd pull the intake and get it out before it does major damage.

i don't think so because like i said it started missing for about a min after a hard run and it's never done that before or after that occasion so i think that's when it went in.it was too small to get lodged i think.

it would be pretty hard for the engine to eat that and not be damaged i would open it up as the piece might be lodged some where in the chamber ? it could damage the valves countless things can go wrong but i hope it did spit it out!

i haven't heard any bad noises or had any sort of problems other than that short miss so i think i got lucky. i can't afford to rip it apart due to lack of funds and it's my daily driver so that's a problem. i'll just have to hope i guess.
