The manufacturers alliance of BMW, Renault, DaimlerChrysler, Honda and Toyota want most of the revenues, a level playing field and far greater transparency.

They want NASCAR?

We already have that. Perhaps they should think about eliminating right turns. Left is a much better direction. Oh, and don't dare have your car too tall or too short.

What's that? The Taurus is too fast? Give it a larger spoiler and slow it down!

Peter Windsor had a very interesting idea, as published in F1 Racing magazine a couple months ago. His theory was that Bernie Ecclestone is behind the 'crises' in F1, meant to devalue the rights to the sport so he could buy back the shares he sold a couple years ago, but for much less than he sold them for. If Windsor is right, then some time over the next two seasons Bernie will have to either make a deal to buy back 'F1' and stabilize things, or at least assure the teams that he's about to.

I think most fans, those true to the sport and not Yankee, uh, Ferrari fans because they win all the time, like a little competition. You know, that's why you race in the first place. I like F1, but if it's to predictible it won't be as popular here. Let's see Minardi get a top 5, A Toyota in the winner's spot on the podium, Sauber run with Mercedes and BMW. I do like Ferrari's dropping out. They have had enough time up top.

I agree with you Pockets.

This has more to do with Ecclestone and who pockets the profits than pulling Ferrari's wing feathers. The fact that Ferrari seems to be siding with Ecclestone....all by themselves....is just frosting on the other manufacturers cake. But by lowering the price, he opens the door to the manufacturers buying the series....if they don't just create their own in the process.

The only thing F1 wants to copy about Nascar is it financial success.
