Silver 2-Tone For Sale in Sydney
I see in this mornings's SMH that the '93 Silver 2-Tone from Newtown is still for sale. I looked at this one last September when the owner (a recently-retired gent) was asking $29,500! Its a one-owner car, with low kms and good service history, but its never been garaged and the interior and exterior are quite rough. Its also had damage repaired on the RH front guard. The current asking price is $16,500 neg.
The address was 251 Stanmore Road, Newtown - Ph: (02) 95696172 Mob: 0418600784. Reece Last edited by Reece; 01-17-2004 at 03:27 PM. |

I remember seeing that car broken down, bonnet up, by the side of the road about 18 months ago when Cassie used to live in Newtown - would pass his place all the time on the way home.
Had left a note for him but he never called...oh well His asking price, from the condition I saw, was waaaaaay too optimistic - did you happen to get his VIN/build date??

James,
No I didn't get the VIN or build date - I was too busy checking the condition of the mechanicals and listening for noises. However, I do remember that he had a pristine copy of that Car & Driver produced feature issue on the SVX. Any interest in yours yet? If I had more spare change and garage space....hmmm Reece |

Hi Reece
Had a couple of emails and phone calls - nothing yet though If you got it, it would be going to a good home! James PS: that Mothers wax seems to be part of a 3 step process..do I have to use their Second Step (polish cleaner I think its called)?

James,
I used it after just washing the car without any other preparation and got a really great shine. I think you really only need to use a cleaner/cutting compound if the finish is badly oxidised or is covered in bugs, tar or other hard-to-remove stuff and minor scratches. Reece |

Thanks for that - I will have to get some polish on one side where some moron seems to have walked past with a bag or something - like 'brush' marks - should come out no problem but just a pain.
I'll use some polish on it to get rid of the water drops (from the using a (*&(*&(*& bucket to wash the car!!) and then use the Mothers - your car looked excellent when I saw it so will give it a go. Many moons from now, when we return and I get another one, I'll use Swissol on it!
