To my knowledge, the SVX was only available FWD in 1994-1995. All the other ones are AWD unless you're cool and have a turbo like KEVINL. :-)

in 1994 they offered.....

a "more economical" SVX with FWD. I have one and I actually like being able to spin the front tires. anyway the car still handles and performs wonderfully.

Yeap

Only the 94-95 LSi Came in AWD. The L and LS models are FWD only.

sorry my friend.....

but all of the svx's are AWD except for some 1994 models that came FWD. the L, LS, LSI are interior trim levels and options. LSI refers to the model trimmed in leather and loaded with a sunroof and other ammenities. again only the 1994 svx's were offered with a FWD option.

not exactly ...

There are two versions of the 1995 L: a front-wheel drive version (model code SKA) and a version with the "AWD Active Safety Group," (model code SKC) that included AWD (surprise!), ABS and a rear limited-slip differential.

Really.

Actually I just did some checking, 1994 & 1995 had an FWD option. I couldn't recall so I just did a bit of research on the web. They do exist, and are about as rare as hens teeth, I've only seen a couple. One when the sales manager came back from an auction gloating over the smokin' deal he got on that purty red SVX...until I broke the bad news. "You did know that was a FWD car didn't you?"

Actually, when you think about it the SVX was ahead of it's time again...you could get FWD on all other models until the '97 MY.

Hmmmm. Where, on the web, did you get this information? Could it possibly be accurate? Was it from the R&T website, or, was it some piece of sales literature?

Nah, I'll leave the brochures and R&T searches to you. I was sure there were FWD SVX's just not which years, so I started looking around to see what I could find. Turns out the best information I found was at a website that I think was called cars101.com or something like that.

And while sales information can be misleading, you know...the whole pass, aw forget that, but whether they produced a FWD model in a certain year is pretty straight forward. Funny though, I saw no mention of pass...aw never mind.

Oh no. Not cars101.com. Joe Spitz page, who once had the 92 listed with a 50/50 split fold down rear seat. You've taken the word of a car salsman? Oh my goodness. We have stooped to new lows. (Disclaimer: Joe Spitz does have some good info and is a friend of the SVX)
