It seems to be working now. I think the hosting company may have had a technical problem.

The book is really interesting and I have spent many hours reading it.

Significant Technical Input
Trevor,

All of us are extremely fortunate if and when we come in contact with those of great spirit and ability. Mr. Watson clearly was one of those people and he was as lucky as we are to have a friend like you to document his achievements.

I offer my most sincere condolences as I know he was a close friend.

Carl

p.s. I suppose it was a couple years ago when we disussed the ignition system possibilities for the 'rotary' aero engine. I never realized that those of us on the 'top half' had a different term for this type engine. For us, it is a 'radial' engine, whether or not the cylinders rotate. A 'rotary' engine denotes a Wankel layout for us. I had no idea this was the layout to which you were referring. Undoubtedly it would have made a difference in our conversations.

Thank you Carl, ( Am I correct with Carl ? )

I have always rated you "Beav", as one the most genuine posting here. You are always logical and to the point and never jump on a band wagon.

In aviation circles as far as I am aware, a radial has always been regarded as having fixed cylinders, while a rotary of the old type is fully rotating. However the advent of the Wankel rotary has thrown a spanner in the dictionary for sure and I always try to cover this aspect of the term.

In truth i had forgotten our discussion and am sorry, but I did get the ignition system sorted and all is fine. An aircraft magneto was adapted to keep things within the club so to speak. The engine is a work of art and beautiful. You would love it. Real engineering. It will go on display in due course.

Sincere regards, Trevor.

Trevor

Please accept and pass on my condolences. Having read your fantastic internet article on Ralph's achievements the world is truely a lesser place for his passing.

Phil.
