how to adjust the idle speed on my SVX?
i have this intermittent stalling issue with my car now that the weather is starting to drop to cooler temps.
id like to know if there is a way to adjust my idle speed up because i think this will cure my problem. this usually occurs when all kinds of electrical stuff is going (lights, heat, etc.) when i come to a stop at a light. |

The only way to adjust the idle is to let the ECU adapt for it. You're better off trying to fix the problem than screwing up the settings on the throttle body (which offically once you touch it you have to replace it), IAC valve, or anything else.

Sounds like the problem is an excessive load on a weak alternator. Mean ole Mr. Inductance is dragging you down bro!!

The IAC would compensate for alternator load as well as anything else.
p.s. I think you mean reluctance, not inductance.

Use these words in a sentence:
"I went to Hooters in search of inductance but was only met with reluctance."

Get your alternator tested and until you fix the problem keep a little on thegas at stops.

its not the charging system that is the problem.
i think it has something to do with the RPMs falling so quick now that there is a 5 speed in it. i adjust the throttle cable slightly and the problem is gone. about a turn or 2 on the lock nuts and all is well. |

Ah yes. The 5speed idle problem is quite common. Funny noone assessed that.
