Ticket machine!!!

I get pulled over all the time in this thing. I just got another ticket last night from these danm cops of suffern, ny and i'm pissed cuz its my second ticket.
The first ticket i took to a lawyer and it happened in april it was a 60 in a 30.... huge points but waiting till court its been 6 months. The second i got last night and it was a 52 in a 30 and the whole danm town has 30mph and they use radar. Anyone know NY's laws about the tickets and how long they take or do they expire?? I've never had to wait this long and court dates are usually on the ticket but not this ghetto town you have to send your ticket back guilty or not guilty then they set up a court date... I will loose my job if i get over 7 points on my licence. Thanks for listening

Tim

That's how some small towns make money. Slow down?

I don't mean to be mean when I said slow down. You should always watch your speed and your surroundings. In the last 3 years, I have not use any radar detector and I don't have a single speeding (or any) tickets *knocks on wood*

In IL, if you go twice the speed limit, they can and will toss you in jail. Just try to slow down. Even in the SVX, it can be done. Hell, I've been driving things faster than SVXes since I started working on my new job and you have to learn to slow down.

Driving around anywhere in the ANE (Atlantic North East) is pretty well balanced. Every cop I have encountered will give you up to 9 mph leeway. Small towns are no joke. A local cop is very loco, and bored to tears. Seeing a traveller or just a conspicuous vehicle gets their attention. I personally recommend a Passport 8500 radar detector. Almost all of these town and county boys have passive Ka radars for traffic control, and you can spot them a mile away. It'll be sure to give you plenty of space to slow down, and look like a law-abiding citizen.

Gee thanks everyone haha I know i need to slow down and i think radar detectors are stuipid since i'm always around a laser area and this town is the only one with radar that i know about. But my detectors are my eyes... havn't failed me till now and i think i'm going to have to buy a detector prob go pop my circuit city card out. Anyway, i'm just shootin the **** with you guys don't get angry on me. I just love that little double tap of the foot on the gas pedal. HAHA

yeah get a radar detector ........I've been ticket free for over a year now .....thank god - or should I say my escort passport 8500.

The thing is a beast, and rarely falses. If you find LASER detection to be annoying you can disable it - I have it disabled right now.

Good luck with court.

Just 9? I usually give 12-15. Depends on the area. And attitude is everything when you get stopped. I usually have my mind made up in the first 8-10 seconds wether it will be a ticket or a written warning.

The Passport 8500 is a GREAT detector. I had cheap detectors for years before I finally droppped some bucks and got a "real" detector. This is one instance where more expensive really does mean better equipment.

Not that I speed all the time...in fact I rarely exceed the limit by more than five MPH. I just like my electronic gadets

My 8500 saved MY @$$ yesterday!! I was trying to merge onto the highway and there was a truck in the right lane and a car in the left ......I was running out of room to merge so I gunned it to get ahead of the speeding truck. Out in front, I hear the slow beeps coming from the detector, look down and see I'm doing like 85-90 mph! I let of the gas because it's just slow beeps, then they get faster so I start braking ........The beeps are now one steady tone and I look to my right to see a cop hiding like no tomorrow on the side of road behind trees .........look down and I'm doing 65-70mph as I pass him

No ticket ......without the radar I definitely would've been nailed, and would've been extremely mad. I don't speed, but when I get mad at other drivers I tend to hit the gas to get AWAY from them rather then brake to be stuck behind em. The cop was chillin maybe like 1/2 mile from the entrace to the highway ....ouch
