It's this bad boy here...

No. 16 and 17 in the pic. There were two versions of it, I believe one actually has a cooler of some kind built into it.

Cabin Air filter/solar air filter UPDATE

This is the latest information I got from Subaru Japan/Japan Direct Import Service: Evidentally, these accessories were designed for the JDM market as it seems that the Japanese are very heavy smokers

No. 16 is a cabin air cleaner/purifier system. It is hard-wired into the 12V electrical system and works in conjunction with the climate control system. They said it was not too hard to install and would send me translated instructions, if needed.

"Cabin Air Cleaner (No. 16)
Catalogue says that this cleaner works by the electrical power of car battery. The cabin air cleaner circulates air in the cabin by electrical power of car battery, and cleans dust and odors through a filter in it. This cleaner is controlled by a switch that is installed around driver's seat. it starts working for 5 minutes with Hi-mode linking with the air conditioner; then it is changed to Low-mode automatically. Installation manual is also included in the box, and we heard from Subaru that you can install it easily. (I will translate the manual for you if you purchase this item.)

No. 17 is a smaller, less powerful version of No. 16. It is solar powered and can be used on the dash or the rear deck, or both.

Details of solar cleaner (No. 17)
The catalogue says that the fan for this cleaner works by "solar electrical power", and removes odors from the cabin. After that, the good and light smell of jasmine remains. You should think this equipment as an aromatic.

Actually, this equipment has a solar battery in it, and a fan works without any sources of power. But it works only for an aromatic, and doesn't work for the cleaning of air in the cabin. Also, liquid in it has to be purchased once it runs short. You can install this anywhere you prefer because this equipment is fixed by double-sided tape."

Cool! The guys at SOA were convinced that #17 was an air circulator. I guess it is, in a way of thinking. It's an air circulator with built-in sneezy juice.

Ew, yeah that is an option for the SVX I have seen in the past as well. Personally I would rather keep it stock than switch to that.. Of course I switched mine a little though..

Would the clear covers stop or slow down the yellowing on our headlights?
