You should be able to get a PCV valve, and probably a suitable O-ring, at any auto parts store.

As per Harvey's #8 post. Treat the cause, not the symptom.

Do the PCV valve. Clean the gunked up passages. Replace the O ring.

No more problems.

Thanks Joe, I was expecting a post suggesting, 'to fit a spring to the dipstick, so that when the pressure blows it up, the spring will pull it back down, problem solved.'

Harvey.

Re: Oil dipstick mystery

Mystery fun...

I just stuck some JB weld on the top of my dipstick tube, burch wont pop anymo....just make sure you clean all of the oil off of the tube so It will adhere better to the metal and form a solid bond.

Or, Or............

Drill a small hole through the top of the dipstick. That way it will whistle when the PCV needs attention.

Oh geeze, why stop there Why not make a ram-air system for it through the hood so the PCV valve doesnt have to suck so hard?

I just cut 6 inches of the length of mine and haven't had any trouble since! Been about 2 months...

Re: Oil dipstick mystery

I have seen some of them move up 3 or 4 inches. This is by vibration and not pressure. Either way, the O-ring should be replaces.
