New SVX Owner here!
Well I am a big Cult Car fan, I have an 88 Conquest, an 87 BMW325is an 88 Trans Am, an 78 Dodge Ramcharger. And now I added to my fleet one car that I have been wanting since I first found out what they where about five years ago. I am the owner of a 1992 Subaru SVX LSL.
I bought the car from a dealership, it was a trade in that my buddy called me in to tell me to get it. He is the Sales Manager so he gets me inside connection. I picked it up for $605.65 after Tax tag and title. The Car: 1992 SVX LSL Ebony Grey Leather Custom made cold air intake Custom Exhaust Cross drilled slotted rotors and the best part Five Speed Swap! The swap is a little sloppy and needs some work to make it nice. There are some interior parts missing and no radio surrounds at all. The shifter is pretty loose. The rear diff mounts are totally shot and I ordered new ones from all we'll drive they are hear and waiting for me. I want to do a diff fluid change an reseal the the diff but I am unsure of what fluids to use. So any help there would be much appreciated. I hope that this forum will be very helpful in my future build. For now the car will get me threw winter, but come spring it will be time to modify and improve. I will be looking for advice, parts, and others in my area to help out. Brad the Superlative! (The superlative on the end of my name is a joke, I have been signing my name that way for a few years now, it is not arrogance but some laughter for all.) |

Re: New SVX Owner here!
Lucky cause you got any SVX for under a grand! I hope you like it and don't end up selling it in under a year like some people do. Some come here expecting a cheap "Fast n Furious" car. There is always work to be done and always improvments being made! Glad to have you on board! Welcome, friend and good luck!

Re: New SVX Owner here!
Welcome to the board. I actually think this is Marlettpats car. I know his dad told me he just got a new cheep the other week. His dad didn't know if he traded it in or not. If it has around 250k on the odo and a non-stock front bumper that'd be his.
Regardless send me a pm and you can come take a look at my interior bits I have in the basement (from a couple of parts cars and our racer). As for the shifter, you simply need a new shifter off of a Legacy/Impreza. The tranny in the car if its pat's is a 3.9 impreza tranny. Hocrest did the swap a little bit ago. The engine in the car isn't the original either. Was replaced with a 60k junkyard unit a while back.

Re: New SVX Owner here!
[QUOTE=Bshade;577858]I have the name of the original owner as it was on the title. It is a guy from Lancaster here. I think it is who you are talking about. I would deff be interested in seeing some parts. I was told of a subi shop that has two SVX's in Marietta so I wanna check hat out too. PM me your number I would like o see what you have.
[QUOTE] Yeah that's Pat's car for sure. The place in Marietta is Mike Shaeffer's, last I was down (Larry from there is my mechanic for Subie issues) they weren't parts cars. One was the owners personal car and the other one was waiting for a title.

Re: New SVX Owner here!
Yeah I knew Jordan in school. He was one year behind me. So they are not parts cars, well I will be looking for some parts here soon. I want to leave it mostly alone for the winter and just drive it. but I would be willing to get interior parts now. We will have to meet up and see what you have and what I need. I was thinking of making it a race car with no interior and stuff but its two nice to do that. I made that mistake with my conquest and now I cant bring myself to want to keep the interior in. I don't know my newest one still has it all so it may stay in. Thanks for all the info already now I know a little more about the engine. I am hoping to talk to Pat and get some more info on the car.
