The MARATHON has begun! I ripped the 47-440 apart tonight so it could SHINE again!
There is a bare cab on a painted, running frame. The cab will be painted soon and all pieces will be painted and re-installed for a friday 'delivery'.
there will be some pieces that don't make it back on by then, but it will be RUNNING and shining.
It will be Lemon Twist and bronze.
I left the shop at 1:30 am on sat. (It's tired out.)

Yea!!
You can be in the 'Group Photo' of people that HATE the new paint on my STREET Rod!!

I'm really Pi$$ed about the 'changes' that the 'new' owners have made to MY parts supplier! They quit selling MY paint! My truck looks like $-hit!!! I will be GRABBING the 'rep' by the lapels and YANKING him off the FLOOR tomorrow, and asking what HE's GOING to DO about my RUINED 80 hour Paintjob!!

I painted my truck 2 days ago.(FOR this show). I went home, you could SEE the Screws in the spray room lights in the shine!! as the hours progressed, the paint got less and less 'acceptable'..
Right now, I WISH that I would have bought 'Tractor Supply' Impliment paint and thinned it with GASOLINE! It would have more shine than the CRAP that I will be putting a LARGE SIGN on at the show!

SORRY, Wrong thread! (RANT)

This is a really 'fun' run! If you can make it, I'm sure that you will have a LOT of stories to tell to the ones that didn't come!

Didn't send a private message because I wanted to warn OT and his lady that they might have to help pull me into the fold again. OT - still have those wiper blades? No biggie either way....

Nancy,
It was a pleasure meeting you!!
By the way, When the judging was done, The old guy with the really pretty green coupe took 5th place with his Mustang, third place with the green one, the black 49 Ford with the flames took second and the blue Chevelle with the 2 car seats took Best In Show!!

How about THAT??

4 of the top 5 were cars that WE stood and talked about!!!

The purple 67 Camaro convert took best unfinished.

The results show that I do have an idea what the judges look at!

I have not downloaded those pics yet, I also have not unloaded the truck, nor went back out to Mom's house to get the VW.

I will be doing all of the stuff over the next few days.

'Till the next time,

Re: 4th of July meet, (all car)

Great to meet you, too! Those were some nice cars....

Hey, no biggie on the pictures, whenever you get a chance. This is the first time I looked, so you know I'm a few days behind, too.

Tell your daughter (April, right?) I found those Studebaker mags. Five newsletters from the Keystone (PA) club which are more local newsy, except that one has part of reprints from newspapers about Studebaker stopping production. Also Six "Turning Wheels" magazines from the Studebaker Driver's Club (national) with some nice color pictures on the covers and a few "tech tips." All from 1985 and 1986. I'd be tickled to give them to someone who would appreciate them, after I drop a few tears on them. But it would be OK if she sold them (if there is even a market) to another person who would appreciate them, and put the money into her baby....

PS. This is something I am keeping for sentimental value, but maybe I'll bring it with me sometime if you all are interested. The original telegram that Studebaker Corp sent to its dealers, succinctly and politely saying it was going to quit production due to financial problems. Can't remember the exact words, it's buried in the attic, but it's sad. My Dad had it laminated, so it's probably not valuable, but I love it.

Re: 4th of July meet, (all car)

There would have been 100 more if the weatherman would have co-operated!

I takled with the sponsor. The run WILL happen next year!!

Anyone that might be interested in participating can sign up soon! I will 'link' the info as soon as it becomes available.

April would hold near and dear, any Studebaker info that came her way!!
If there was a 'document' that had sentimental' value that would cause pain to release, a PHOTO-COPY would work!
It would be placed in the back seat with all the other stuff.

Have you rented/viewed/bought "Joe Dirt" yet??

It's kinda lame, but FUNNY!!!
Since you met the guy that ownes the car, you might as well look at the movie!
The next time you come to town, I'll take you to Robbie's house to see the car!
If it's not calling for rain, Robbie might bring it out, 'In the Flesh',again!
I'll work on him....

I'm waiting for Joe Dirt to show up on TV. My DVR is already packed and I never seem to get around to viewing, so I don't rent movies. Send me a private message with your or your daughter's address, and maybe that will force me to look at the mags and send them along. When I run across the telegram I will make a copy for her, for sure.
