Question Is there something wrong over here??

Hi,
Today while i am cleaning my engine bay, I came accross this oil. I am thinking that it leaked allover while filling engine oil during oil changes. But, do anyone think that there is something else wrong here??

and also what is this ground wire for to the muffler on passenger's side??

thanks,
-Pavan

Pav, this is really serious man, oh God... it is better for you to sell the car as is than fixing it, not worth it anymore ...

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, just teasing ya . you have a valve cover leak. You should take the cover out and change its gaskets (three gaskets).
I dunno of the upper oil cap part is leaking some oil also, well you have to take the cap out and underneath it by a couple of inches you can see bolts covered with oil sludge, well take them out and you so inside a rubber ring. You should change that.

Danny, you are a BAD BAD MAN!

I at first only read your intro!
But I agree with your assessment.

The best way to find a leak like that is to clean the area real well. Then watch where the oil leaks. It is had to tell where it is coming from. Good luck.

I will clean it next weekend, as this weekend I went to paul's(92svx95) house to help him out in swapping 4.44's (not finished yet). Hopefully I will figure it out coming weekend.

thanks,
-Pavan.

Just helps to provide another path for grounds at the rear of the vehicle to connect with the rest of the electrical system via engine ground.

Valve cover gaskets are only like $10/ea, but are a pain to replace on these cars.

I would be happy if someone can gimme all the part#s that I have to order (I am going to order rear bearings and front passenger wheel well[Mudgaurd]).

My engine looks exactly like that with oil around the spout and all over the valve covers. The valve cover gasket would make sense, because my engine has oil on both sides and has a very slow leak when it is hot.

Hmmm, but i never saw oil marks or dripping underneath my car (There are times when I park my car without moving for almost 2months). But I can't say the valve covers are not bad .
