4eat wont go into reverese?

I have a friend with a 91 legacy awd 4eat and it wont ingage in reveres, you can feel the car tring to go reveres, but the trannie just slips in the rest of the gears. Is there any adjustment or any thing else that would cause this. I know the SVX croud has the most experiance with the 4eat so thats why i posted it here.

I'm guessing this is a problem with the low/reverse clutch.

Sorry about the bad grammer, i was pretty tired. The car only slips in reverse, the rest of the gears work fine.

Do you have any idea on how hard or costly it would be to fix the problem if it was inded what you think?

Thanks

I had the same problem, had it towed to a trans shop. The trans was shot and needed a rebuilt. Check out the attachment.
