lets shift again, like we did last summer
the little blue 92 is back on the road with the rebuilt trannie! (of course, the trannie went up a week before the snow; grrr). they call and say pick it up. i ask for the cost. the guy says "it's a little more than i told you, it needed solenoids and tranmission mounts" err, how much? he says "$2,450". i tell him that he quoted me a best and worse case scenerio of $1,200 to $1,800 and how he also said the shop up the street from his is a rip off because you'll go in with one price and drive out with another. he says pick up the car and we'll talk. i get there the next day. he asks me to go to the back of the shop. he says he remembers he said no more than $1,800, but he says the trannie mounts were $109. will i pay for them. i figure the mounts aren't part of a rebuild, so the total was $1,902. i figure if it was done right the price was fair and at least he didn't say something like "how about twenty-two fifty".

glad you on the road again
I would suggest you give it a few months and if all is still well remember to post it in the shops section with comments on integrity about price.
