Turns out the SVX is not an easy car to model. The Audi was cake by comparison, very prominent body lines and angular shapes. The curves of the SVX make it much tougher to generate the guide curves I need.

Here's a quick sketch of the sort of design I want to end up with.



I'll build one model that represents an OEM SVX and then making others to experiment with. While I want to keep the general style of the car there are a few details of the original design that are getting a little dated. One is the rear wheel arch. The squared off top is very reminiscent of the early 90's and one of my least favourite design cues. I hate wheel gap and the upper rear corner of the arch is a huge one. Other features would be a redesigned front bumper with a blended in grille, straight side skirts (Cloud style), rear spoiler removal and a redesigned rear bumper, possibly incorporating a subtle diffuser. Of course the car will be lowered with 18" wheels, wide tires and fairly aggressive offset.

Mods beyond that would be more subtle variations on what's already there. Lighting would play a large part. Maybe the incorporation of some strip lighting into the tail lights similar to the new BMW and Mercs, illuminated exterior door handles that operate with the dome light, puddle lights... My main goal would be to incorporate some new technology and convenience features.

Sort of, I cheated though. It's a very faint print out that I drew over. It gives me the basic lines of the car to work from but still allows the flexibility to change things up without just making a mess.

Same here, any format you have would be awesome I'm hoping to eventually get solidworks and would like to play with placement of a spoiler as well as front bumper I want to be able to test flow and make adjustments to make a functional front splitter and front bumper and perhaps do a JDM style wing with slight variance to optimize it's effectiveness. I also am wanting to do widebody eventually and would love to see what changes will do to airflow over the car.

I'm hoping to do the same. I've been trying to find freeware or torrent CFD programs that work with CATIA for a while. A coworker that I fly with is part of our flight sciences department so he might be able to sneak me into the lab to do a bit of CFD analysis.

One thing to keep in mind is that no matter how pretty I can make this model it won't be dimensionally accurate to the real thing simply due to the way I'm building it, pulling reference curves off of pictures and diagrams. I hope it's enough to glean useful information from when comparing different things.
