where is the OBI/II plug located in a 95SVX
Went to the local AUTOZONE to have the rep check for a code since my ABS light comes on after I had the rear wheel bearing replaced. The rep couldn't find where to plug in the reader and told me I'd have to go to the dealer since she couldn't locate the plug. Is it hidden behind the coin holder?

Re: where is the OBI/II plug located in a 95SVX
You can't read ABS codes from the OBD port. The ABS computer is under the carpet under the passenger seat. You count the flashes of the red light. Check the How-To Documents top right of this page.
Probably the ABS sensor for that wheel got disconnected or messed up. |

Thanks for the quick info. I'll check the ABS computer tomorrow during the day. But can you still tell me where the OBD port is located so I can show it to the Autozone clerk (and myself)?

Your '95 is OBD1, so you don't use a code reader unless you have the Subaru specific one. Once again you have to count the long and short flashes of the CEL after inserting the blue diagnostic wires into the appropriate terminals of the connector.

Re: where is the OBI/II plug located in a 95SVX
Thanks for all the help. The one page diagnostic guide will be a real help. I didn't realize that only a Subaru dedicated code reader would work. Part of my confusion and lack of knowledge of the plugs in the kick panel, comes from a Subaru dealership. Years ago, I had made an appointment to have some work done (forgot what it was). The dealership told me that they couldn't help me that day since the couldn't find the SVX code reader. I don't think they even knew they could read the blinking CEL. I'm still a little uncertain about reading the long/short blinks of the CEL but that will have to wait until I have a CEL to read. Thanks all.
