/\ THIS!

Recently had a run in with some super sketch clear coat on my dad's motorcycle (Krylon, of all brands!) and I'd really hate to have to deal with removing a botched clear coat.

Re: Headlight restoration

We fitted 3M clear bonnet guard film across my glass headlight to repair a stone chip hole. Passes safety inspection ok.

I tried to clear coat a stock grill and bad results, that was Duplicolor. Came out cloudy.

When I had my car painted the shop said one of the worst things you could do to the lens was clear coat it.

They said it was ineffective and was an absolute nightmare to try to do anything when they yellow again. They also said putting in high power aftermarket lights caused as much yellowing as the sun.

This may be the reason why mine turned yellow again.

Like I said I cleared mine years ago and I also have HID's in it and NO yellowing. Its all in how you prep and the materials you use.

Re: Headlight restoration

Just sand it good and use the 2k urethane clear coat for automotive use. The stuff you actually have to mix together and spray with a paint gun.

Re: Headlight restoration

I have pics of when I did it years ago but none now. I'm actually getting married today so pics will have to wait till tomorrow or so but Nate, Sean and a couple others seen them this past reading and can attest to how clear they still are.
