Rebuild Info

Recently, my '92 Claret has developed a very bothersome tick between the Transmission, and the Engine. I had it looked at, and it seems that the Thrust Bearing is on it's way out, in a big way.

Anyway, there is an SVX in the local yard, that I am looking for pulling the engine, making it available for a switch.

One of these will be rebuilt.

Bottom line is. Has anyone developed a list of which parts to have, and where to get them? I have been looking at SubaruParts, but need a confirmation on the groups of bearings, since they don't specify which are duplications. I have the experience rebuilding, and cannot afford to have it shipped to a group rebuilder.

Re: Rebuild Info

As far as I know there is only a thrust bearing in a manual clutch.

Sounds to me like the typical flex plate problem many members have had. There is an updated flex plate available and the job is not expensive.

Don't go crazy spending money yet.

That takes a lot off my mind. I will look into that. I thought it sounded kinda like fishheads, when I heard that. I've thought it was the flexplate right away, but got steered the other way.

Thanks very much.
