Paint selection

I was wondering if anyone painted their car completely white, with the top? Or any other color without the black top. Any pics?

Re: Paint selection

Thanks for the photo Earl. I have to agree with Alexander, white with the black top is the best combo. Now to find a good auto paint shop. What is the average cost to paint our cars?

All depends on how well of a job you want done and who you know.

Re: Paint selection

Not a bad price for a great paint job. High for a good paint job. And if you are not sure how good he is don't do it.... I have a paint shop that does a terrific job. The paint high end cars ( jags,Acura,Rolls,Ferrari Vetts etc ) they would get $5,000. But the job would be a paint that looks to be 3 feet deep. He painted a trailer to match my friends Goldwing and the paint was better than factory.

Re: Paint selection

I got a quote for 1200 about a year ago, ding repair and 3-4 coats. I'm gonna be safe and round It up to 2k now just to make sure its a good job.

Without the a/c working it gets a bit toasty in my car so I've been debating on black trunk and hood with white roof to try and keep some heat off.

Re: Paint selection

Paint jobs can either make a car into something fantastic, or completely ruin the car. Please do yourself a favor and have the car prepped and painted by an experienced professional. If you don't, in many cases, the end result can be even worse than where you started.

I'm a professional plasterer and I've done auto body work in the past, but I still rather have a paint shop do the work. Sometimes you need to know when to let the pros do the job

Re: Paint selection

I got another quote. It's from a top quality shop. They take everything off-trims, emblems, bumpers, mirrors, wing, cladds; etc. They don't cut corners and use very expensive paints. They quoted me 4K!! Ouch! That Plasti Dip is sounding better with every quote
