Re: Looking to replace the minivan

This is a nice listing of Allroad specs:

http://www.audiworld.com/model/allroad/01/specs.shtml

Bill, if you find yourself seriously interested in an Allroad, or really any European car, I buy them for a living, and know them inside and out. Let me know what models you are considering and I can tell you specifically what to look for.

Re: Looking to replace the minivan

An 03 Legacy GT with 38k on the odo, 5 speed, black leather is everything you need and I know just where to find one.

BMW 5 series wagon. Give your wife what she deserves after you've forced her to drive around in a breeder buggie for all these years!

I can attest to the crappiness of the newer American built Subarus! I won't buy another one nor would I recommend one to anybody I liked!

I agree. The 5 series touring wagons are not bad at all. I have a personal dislike for them, but I think it's because they're hard to sell.

Exactly the reason I suggested it. You can't beat it as far as bang for the buck goes and honestly, anyone who lives with my avatar definately deserves such a machine!

Mike,
The wife is picky ("but that car isn't 'cute'), so I'll have to run some pics by her. $7-8k is at the top end of what I can afford (Austin is going to be a senior next year, so college bills are right around the corner).
Give me a call if you think you've got a line on any good deals.
-Bill

S4 avants are a rare breed. Probably too small for Bill's needs, and also they usually sell for more than they're worth because of how rare they are.

Bill

A 2.8 non-turbo a6 avant like I own can be VERY inexpensive. I actually have one for sale right now (A 1999 with 110,000 miles) for around $5000. I have always thought the Allroads were pretty high up on the 'cool scale', though. An allroad can be had for less than I said, but you may end up with a higher mileage car. There are some very important things to watch for on the Allroads. I'll call you tonight to discuss.

Mike

Re: Looking to replace the minivan

I sent this to Bill in a PM, but thought I'd post this Allroad link for the benefit of everyone.

How old is your wife? She likes colors? If you want to keep that car for a long time, for 7-8k down, you can probably get a really good payment plan for the 2010 Kia Soul. Cool funky cute car with 10yrs/100k warranty. No premium gas, great on gas, brand new, spacious!
