Question Help LOL tappet noise

1992 svx ls, we did the oil change, ran the cleaners though the motor, added mystry oil, to break down. build ups. Just replaced oil and filter, went to a 20/50 oil, still have tappets rattling.. Is there an adjustment on the tappets? Or do you have to replace all of them? Thanks for any help we can get?

Has this car been sitting for a while. When I bought my 96 it had not been driven for quite a few months and it had the same lifter noise. Went away after changing the oil (5-50 synthetic) and driving the car hard.

try 10 ozs. of sea foam in the oil and then go for a hard drive AFTER the engine has warmed up. I haven't had it fail for me yet, So give it a shot. Good luck.

lifter noise

Thanks, I will give that a try, not ready to pull the motor apart. Besides it runs good, just noisey....

usually a thinner oil will help more than a heavy oil in freeing upa sticky lifter. That and flogging the hell out of it to boost oil pressures helps too... The ol girl just needs to pump up again
