Power light blinking 16 times...

After some searching, it seems it may be a resistor? Any help
would be greatly appreciated. The CE light is on as well. The
Power light blinks upon startup. Regardless of the problem, it is very
cool to have on-board computer diagnostics!
BTW...I noticed the shifting was more "crisp" today...as soon as
I put it in gear this AM. And it was having trouble staying in overdrive
at one point, now that I think about it....
Many TIA!

Resister

Hi Pearly, There is a reistor on top of the drivers side fender well, in the engine compartment. I have to had to replace mine several years ago. It will cause hard shifts and no engine braking. It also may be unpluged in which case you can plug it back in and be good to go. Take care, BOBB

The blinking 16 times is just a way of telling you that you have a transmission problem. It does not tell you what the problem is. To find out, look in the How To Documents under "Electrical". From there chose "Diagnostic codes/blinking lights". Then open "Engine codes and instructions". This will tell you how to pull a tranmission code and what the code means.

Thanks Dave! I'll look into it after my vacation; I forgot about the "how-to"

This procedure as well as all the code checking procedures is also in the SVXipedia on http://svx-iw.com/

(I'm on vacation the first 2 weeks of August!)

It should be your tranny resistor unplugged next to your battery.....I unplugged mine and it blinks 16 times upon start up. It never blinked before I unplugged it.

Nothing to worry about

It could be the resistor, it could be something else. The 16 blinks is not a code, it's a warning.

Well, it IS a little misleading:considering it is used blinks codes as well,
that are more definite. It is nice to be able to check those other little things
first; thanks for all the suggestions!
