yeah i too didnt expect tht much.... man thts too much... i thought even less than tht we have to spend on conversion. Now i am decided on manual conversion.

Hmm small car kit, yeah tht's nice, but i am not having tht much to spend on this at present. I am looking at around $2000 atmost. I am looking for some help on choosing parts and to gather them all in a right way.

hey pavan... send a PM to svxfiles
he is in virginia and is quite good at doing the trans swaps, I remember reading somewhere that he too is able to do all the work for about $1000
He is probably the closest to you that would be able to help or do it all..

Pavan im glad to see your finding ways to work this out instead of going the easy way out and parting out the car or selling. Glad to see an SVX'er tackling his problems

I just now read this thread.
To me the quickest and easiest way out for low bucks is to swap in another 4eat Subaru automatic transmission.
One with 4.44 or 4.11 gear ratios for better acceleration!
Does your mechanic have the transmission out? Tom.

Yeah he did took it out, but they r listing a price of as low as $2648 at the least for rebuilding it. I dont want to spend tht much and also i am not having tht much money to spend on it as i have to repay my amount i used for my tution at first.

I owuld like to go for 4.44 as many members has suggested. Yep he did removed the tranny and it was now removed apart. I am confused at present not knowing wht to do. Also no one is there with in my reach to talk also.

If they have the trans out now, don't have them put it back.
Just have them put everything in the trunk, in Hefty bags.

Hi Spindoctor,

Binding 1st gear.

Sorry I am a bit late.
This is the second one that has destroyed the reverse clutch, on a hard throttle engagement. The reverse clutch stays engaged, so that, in 1st it is also in reverse. Does not affect the other gears.

It looks like the trans doesn't like being banged into reverse, under power.
Harvey.
