Re: 1950/20000

Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
So high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you,
Thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.

(Bette Midler, Wind Beneath My Wings)

Now I'll have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the night...

Quite an accomplishment. Let's look to the future at 40,000 posts & 4,000 threads. OK, everybody, close your eyes & dream.

... Aredub reinstalls the Legacy tranny, because no more "genuine" SVX trannys exist. Paints car in school bus y****w to protest SOA.

... Larry the third's secret bid of 10K on the Red 181 mile SVX won, because all other bidders couldn't scrape up the cash. It's parked under a plastic bubble in the back yard. Rosie is forbidden from touching it. It now has 187 miles on the clock. One ding now present from wayward golf ball.

...oneofthefewproud's bills now tally 20K, but "it ain't over 'til it's over".

...SVXcess swapped the entire interior for an authentic Japanese right hand drive set up. Also replaced the grill with one from a '54 Buick.

...SVXphile sucessfully installed a 5 inch telescope on the dash, but drove the car into a ravine while chasing the Pliedes. Is now trying to buy jrollin's newly refurbed '92 with the Level 11 tranny.

...I finally got that VW Vanagon engine installed & now getting 45 mpg, & 0-60 in 5 minutes. Tranny is totally relaxed.

... Chris discovered a way to make all Windows based & Apple computers share compatible software, bought out MicroSoft, & purchased all remaining SVX's still available. Bill Gates couldn't be happier as chosen caretaker in charge of the daily waxing of the fleet.

Bzzzzzzz... Oh crap, it's Larry's alarm again.
Ron.

Hey Beav - Please, a little privacy here, OK?

(Now I'm going to have that song stuck to my head a SECOND night... Not that it's a bad song, but still...)

Ron.
Larry's alarm consists of an NYC Dep.t of Sanitation truck and crew, and six galvanized steel, 50 gallon trash cans. The truck and crew arrive at 4:30 AM every morning at Larry's driveway.

The crew bangs the cans on the side of the truck while dumping the contents of the cans into the trucks maw.

Then they throw the empty cans up the driveway towards the house.

Then the truck backs up while it's back-up beeper sounds.

Ahhh - the sounds of the city.

Larry III

Why is Ron next to me in bed? Did he bring that empty cardboard box-o-wine ? Is this a nightmare ?
I can't wait for the alarm to go off. Where is the Beautiful Naviguesser?

Wayne - Sorry to hear "Beauty's over". "Project car"? The term's chilling to me. I hope it's not the Yahoo guy who had thoughts of making an SVX convertible.
Anyway, I think it should be a rule that when a club member sells his/her SVX it's mandatory that they have the new owner join this club & register for the 10th anniversary meet. Otherwise, NO SALE! I hope to see you back here some day, Wayne.
Best wishes, Ron M.

Starstruck

<..SVXphile sucessfully installed a 5 inch telescope on the dash, but drove the car into a ravine while chasing the Pliedes. Is now trying to buy jrollin's newly refurbed '92 with the Level 11 tranny.>

Pretty close there Ron. Jean and I do own a 5in Celestron Nexstar 5, but I think the dash mount is not too practical. A console mount aiming through the "moonroof" might not be bad though. No need to "chase" the Pleiades ; that is the job of another constellation!

Actually, I was thinking more of standing in line for Molar Marauder's car if he ever decided to part with it.....you know the drill with dentists; they have to change every little bit. Don

Your brand of humor is becoming difficult to palate, Don.
Oh, by the way, what did the guy with the sprained ankle use to help get himself out of his old Chevy? This is too easy - you figure it out. I refuse to stoop any lower, dad-gum it!
Ron.
