Slap in the face
Well, the todie bowl just keeps flushing. Down to my last ditch attempt for a job. I worked as a successful Dominos associate store manager for our local 9 store franchise owner for almost 4 years before I had to move to Seattle. I left under good terms and even got a recommendation for hire when I transfered from franchise to corporate side of Dominos. On a last ditch attempt for a job (running WAY outta options now) I asked if I could return to work for my old franshisee. In 1998 when I left I was making $8.00 an hour + 5 percent profit bonus (or about $400-500 more a month) plus benefits and medical. The offer to return back to work was like a bitter slap to the face. Day manager position, $6.50 an hour with no bonus, no medical, and no benefits. So much for NOT burning bridges. I midas well blowed the bridge up when I left years ago.

And companies wonder why there's low morale and no company loyalty anymore... Sheesh...
Sorry to hear of your rough luck. If it makes you feel any better I'm just scraping by freelancing as a computer geek. Some people have all the luck, and some don't. VK Last edited by vkykam; 11-10-2001 at 12:59 AM. |

that absolutely sucks.
maybe you should think about working for a copier company, like danka. one of my co-workers husbands worked as a help desk guy and applied for a position with danka repairing copiers. he got the job and they sent him to schools for two certifications. basically it is a job and it should pay more than the pizza place.
do not give up, a positive attitude is everything. in fact if you would like a second opinion on your resume i would be more than happy to sit down and brainstorm with you to see if there is any room for improving it. i took some career and resume building courses so i have a knack for building resumes that present a clear message to the employer. drop me an email at cavaron@hotmail.com and we can schedule some time to talk.

I like this place (i.e. this 'club'). It's a positive place with people who are willing to be nice to others. Yep, I like it here.
