Well I have not looked at the service manual's but when I installed my cooler I also flushed the tranny. I pulled the hoses off of the hard lines to check the flow path and the way I showed was the way I hooked up my filter and cooler. It has been that way for almost three years know.
Mike,
You get the prize for answering my request that someone start up their car and see which line gets hot first - pulling off the hoses and seeing which one spurts out fluid first does the same thing.
Thanks.

John,
Can you post the figure that goes with this? The one that Lee posted only has hoses C and D and the one that Mike (Nubs) posted doesn't have any hoses labeled #18 or #19.
Thanks.

I'll have to scan it from the manual. It is in section 2.5 of the book with the cooling ststem.transmission, etc. The numbers refer to the parts on the diagram and are diferent from the parts diagram on svxparts.com.

The "B" hoses (18 and 19) are the ATF Cooler Inlet and outlet, connecting to the hard metal lines and are labelled clearly as such in the manual.

The "A" hoses connect from the other end of the metal lines and go to the tranny.

Of course this wouldn't be the first mistake we would have found in the service manual. That's probably the reason for the 1992 CORRECTIONS manual. Does anyone have this elusive manual to see if the original diagram is incorrect?

The original Japanese service manual shows the incorrect flow diagram, IN flow on the driver's side (US) of the radiator. The amendment set shows the opposite, IN on the pax (US) side of the radiator.

When I installed my aux cooler, I bypassed the radiator cooler and confirmed the IN/OUT hoses by removing the IN hose, having a friend start the car and myself underneath the car getting sprayed with ATF!

Talking THANKS!

I think we can close out this thread now. Thanks for everyone's input!! I'll see if I can't get my digital camera out when I do my cooler installation so we can add to the "How To" locker.

I have corrected the original diagram in the 92 service manual to reflect what is in the amended version. This seems to be correct now.

John

I liked you great diagram of the ATF flow, but it was backwards. If you did that one, would you be willing to do it again with the proper flow directions. It would be a great addition to the How-To Locker under "ATF Flow Path".

Thanks
