I don't know of a thread on it, but the Legacy/Impreza/Forester all use the same sensor, but the mounting hole is different, you can use the EJ sensor by installing it , and turning it so that the bolt will catch the side of the plastic mounting tab, to secure it down, just won't be thru the mounting tab hole....

I hope that is clear enough.......they are the same sensor, just slightly different mounting tabs...and much cheaper....as low as $17.19 on Rockauto.com

Yahoo.
With the '93 impreza Crank angle sensor recommended here, and installed as suggested, the car fired right up.
After looking at the old sensor, I don't think I caused it to malfunction with my mirror inspection. I think it was just old and was probably the source of those ticking sounds.
