Fun With Photoshop

Saw this in Jalopnik the other day. It's called Tilt-Shift and the forced perspective can make large things look like toys. Had to try it on some pics. The first two were taken in the driveway:

Next two parked at work:

This last one is of an STI at Virginia Intl. Raceway. Took this shot at the WRX Track Attack last October:

Re: Fun With Photoshop

That last pic most-effectively portrays the "toy" look

I think the first one works very well.

Re: Fun With Photoshop

First one's alright, last one is cool. The effect is too abrupt though. Is there any way to make it more gradual?

Re: Fun With Photoshop

The "abruptness" of the blur could be straightened out with a little more time spent with the mask and gradient features. Also, it is recommended to use a lense blur and for some reason the PS on my computer at work didn't have it. Used the gaussian blur instead.

These were the typical "quick and dirty" ones to test out the method. I'm sure with a little time and practice, they could turn out much better.

Re: Fun With Photoshop

I guess a some of you don't remember SLR cameras. The pics simply look like someone took them with an SLR lens that had limited focal distance.
