Re: JDM Front Clip...

Keith send your 2nd choice my way then.

These pics of JDM are nice. It would be nice if you took pics of the JDM carcass you are checking out. If its close by you, I am willing to offer you good $$ for some parts (Keyless entry parts, and power switch from center console at the least)

James

You still interested in the "JDM" supercharging kit I have?

Re: JDM Front Clip...

Wow guys... I have been a bit busy and when I check back on the thread it's grown to three pages...

Allright, here goes:
The clip is JDM authentic, these guys have an enormous facility filled with clips and engines, I went there a couple of weeks ago and was drooling all over the place. SVX clip was only one, but I saw at least 5 EG33s on various shelves.

I called the owner and asked if I could take some parts off of it, he said he'd rather sell the clip alltogether. I will likely swing by one of these weekends and see if he'll let me "swap" components like corner lights, BOXER engine cover and such + cash, of course. I will also inquire about the price he's asking for the entire clip, I suspect he'd be willing to let it go for a reasonable price since he admitted it was included in one of his cargo shipments by mistake as he wouldn't have ordered it.

I will update the thread as soon as I manage to pay him a visit.

Thank you for the valuable advice guys, I appreciate it.

Regards,

-Walter

PS= I have no intention of making profit off of this, just thought I'd get some cool part for my SVX hoping it will make it even more appealing to potential buyers. If there's anything I can do to help you guys get parts from this clip, I'll gladly do so. Let's see what happens next time I go see him.

Re: JDM Front Clip...

The gray steering wheel in the JDM photos has different proportions than ours and has the integrated buttons.

Re: JDM Front Clip...

Check the chassis number. If it starts CXD (not CXW), then it was a 4WS car. If so then it will have a higher-geared front steering rack than the USDM cars. I think you would find this a worthwhile upgrade.

Re: JDM Front Clip...

b3lha is completely correct. though I am unsure what else is needed... would the rack work alone???

I would be interested in knowing how much he wants for the whole thing. and take pics PLZ PLZ PLZ.

So would the JDM non 4wd not have a higher geared steering rack too? or would that only be on the 4ws verson?

also would it be a good upgrade on a NZ new svx?

Thanks

As mike said, all jdms are awd but to answer your question, only the 4ws have the higher ratio steering.

Hope it steers you into a ditch.

IF he lets you switch things out/buy things off it...

I really really really really really (really) want the 'POWER' switch on the shifter box.
