Torque converter pic?
Does anyone have a pic of the torque converter or at least good directions to it? I'd like to take the crank pulley off and read that I can stick a flathead screwdriver in the torque converter teeth to stop the engine from turning while I wrestle the crank bolt.
I've tried using a strap wrench on the pulley itself but that's not going so well... |

Look underneath the car, behind the engine's oil pan. In between the engine and the front diff you'll see the torque converter's teeth sticking out.
Uh...don't damage those teeth. That'd be expensive. Why are you removing the crank pulley?

Do the breaker bar on the ground/frame starter bump trick. Just make sure to stop cranking after it breaks loose
I'll be doing this on mine later this week as soon as the parts arrive...

I hate to seem stupid but how do you tighten the bolt back up if this is what you have to do to get it off?

I was getting ready to bump the starter against the wrench with a breaker bar - not feeling all that comfortable with it so I gave the strap wrench another shot and the bolt broke loose.
My wife doesn't understand the victory dance, just rolls her eyes, smiles, and mumbles something along the lines 'as long as he's happy' oh yeah |
