Gas Mileage/bad sensors

Like some folks here I thought I was getting really bad gas mileage. But as it turned out I had a bad gas gauge sensor on one side of the gas tank and I was using only half the amount of fuel I thought I was. The SVX has a saddle tank with a gauge on both sides. But I was still calculating on 18 gallons of gas. It may be a long shot for some but it solved my bad mileage in an instant.
