New guy

First off Merry Christmas! I'm spending mine in the desert but thats another story.
I'm one of the newer guys to the SVX world, it being my first car thats all mine.
I plan on getting a custom exhaust and a new intake filter, along with the idiglo gauges for the interior when I get back to beautiful Hawaii. If anyone has suggestions on body kits I'd love to hear them
If any of you experienced SVX owners would like to give me some tips on performance do's and don'ts they'll be much appreciated. Future big projects (atleast a year for the first of these) include 5speed transformation, and a turbo.

Dirk

Thumbs up Merry Christmas to the New Guy

Hiya Dirk

You are very welcome to the Forum. New input always welcome. Are you a marine also? One of our recent members, GreenGuy I think is a marine.

I am the wrong person to advise you on bodykits, as I am one of the "keep it stock" brigade. However, your first port of call should be to motorsportwarehouse.com. Dayle is a member, and has modded SVXs.

Also, later in the year when your fivespeed is installed, keep an eye out for a couple of people adding superchargers. Turbos work, but the installation is awkward. There is not much room in the engine bay with the six cylinders. Also, I suspect some available kits make do with non-intercooled air, because of the space problem. Not a good way to go. If you are going to spend the money and effort, do it right, charge cool it.

Best of luck with your car, and post the request in the Mod Mania forum if you haven't already. That is where you find the petrolheads.

Joe

Looking at his location of Hickam AFB (Air Force Base) I would guess he is in the Air Force. But after spending 8 years in the Air Force, stranger things have happened.

yes I'm in the Air Force, I couldn't have asked for a better place to be stationed. I can't wait to get a shot of my car, with new rims when i get them, on a great Hawaiian beach.

Welcome to the site and to owning one of the slickest cars around. Any idea how many SVX's are on the islands? Enjoy it!

One word of advice. If you install the indigo gauges don't tighten the screws on the gauges too much. I speak from experience.

svxeno, thanks for the tip. I'm not sure how many are in Hawaii, but I know there is atleast one more. I will have the best in the state soon, I'm positive.

Congrats on a sweet car. My question is this though: why does everyone immeadiatly want ot get a bodykit and a turbo?! I mean... I dunno. I think the fast and furious was detrimental to mankind. :| G'luck regardless!

Welcome to the network, out little dysfunctional, yet fun to be around family on the internet.

You have a couple of questions. I have some answers. Dayle(Motorsports Warehouse) is the way to go if you want some of the hard to find parts. Brian (smallcars.com) does the 5 spd kit. There is a guy who is tyring the turbo but I'd rather have a supercharger than a turbo on the car. Also, stebro is the way to go on the exaust.

As for the interior, I had a video based rear-view system (first on the SVX) and any form of any electronic interior upgrade, feel free to ask me. I am in the process of having a computer controled seats/climate control using a touch screen monitor and a voice control.

You can also look at my locker for the LED tail light mod.

I am also ordering hard to find NEW parts from Japan once a month for the members here as well.

(basically, what Lwin is trying to say, is that if you want some crazy assed interior mod that has to do with electronics, he's probably done it already).

I've done a lot of the possible exterior mods to mine. Check out my registry entry on the dot org.

beatiful car GREEN. I plan on cleaning up my car and adding the exterior mods after I get a few performance things done. I love the clean lines of this car.

Welcome to the site and Merry Christmas!! Good to have you here. When we need a little peek at the sun, you can post pictures of the sunny beaches over there. Here in Washington State, it is raining right now (and does most of the time) Good luck and have fun.
