i bought the Freeway Blaster mainly to see if the alarm chirps would be louder - i can barely hear them as i'm walking away from the car. the WRX is LOUD - no question as to whether the alarm was activated. the pulses for the SVX alarm chirps are just too short to produce any volume. there was no difference with the horn i got, and air horns may be worse, if they are even audible at all.

Sorry..but

I took the pictures..now I have to tell the story. Yesterday was a mess and I simply ran out of time (long story, xmas prep. and all...), but I WILL get to it tonight. I'm thinking of puting together a Word document then converting it to *.pdf format for posting. I hope that works....

I'll check this afternoon on the alarm thing (GOOD QUESTION) the pulses may be to short. hmmmmm?

...awaiting the next day I get to blast 'em again.

What does the Freeway Blaster consist of? Is it another air horn system or is it just a louder stock type horn. Is it a lot louder than stock?

Thumbs up Security and LOUD horns

Let me whip this out! (pulls manual section 6 from trousers) It looks like the security system splices in close to the horn button, ie, no separate relay... it does look like this would be EASY to change so you could still use those weedy little horns for the alarm on/off signal. maybe even use just one if two are too loud. Will scan image if necessary (for beer)

FINALLY

Here is my one page instructions. I tried to keep it to one page to keep it simple and reasonable small.

This morning I tried my alarm and all was fine. HONK HONK HONK and then off. No worries.

I realize this thread probably belongs on the Mod forum so if RWJ wants to move it there that's fine.

If you find this useful then we should probably get the *.pdf file copied to the World Network Site.... Oh..it's about 200KB, so shouldn't take too long on a modem.

Enjoy.

And HAPPY HOLIDAYS
