Subaru loyalty?

Since I purchased my 95 Legacy, I have developed a real admiration for Subarus. I recently aquired the SVX and will probably get a Subaru beater when my son starts driving. My positive feelings are based partly on their foul weather driving capabilities but also because of the design. Simple things like a large oil cap which allows adding oil with no dripping, easy to get to oil drain plug and filter, elicit a feeling that Subarus are great cars on many levels. It also seems from looking at what other members drive that this feeling is widespread.

Is this a phenomenon characteristic of Subaru owners or do other brands develop a similar following?

I think that Subarus are great but i still have a thing for Nissans and Toyotas cause of similar design details like you mentioned. But nothing beats a cheep 4wd car so Suby all the way

I pretty much only like the SVX... I kinda like the XT. The only reason I would consiter getting another subaru (when it comes time to add another car) would be becauuse I really like the people at the subaru dealer.

I believe I want a Grand Cherokee 5.9 as my next car (97-98)

I only like the SVX.

I can't imagine owning any other Subaru. Not that I think they are bad cars, they just don't give me the chills that other cars do, especially the SVX.

I love my svx as well, but I also love bmws. In that order, I love the bmw e21 and the e30 body style. BMW is so easy to work on,(78 320i) no computer, mechanical fuel injection, fully adjustable timing, points style ignition system (very cake), and more than enough room to get to anything in engine bay. The thing has 350,000 miles on it and still runs like a top, I have tried to blow it up on backroads to no avail, still runs stronger than ever! It seems like the designers put alot of thought and high quality in it. I have had later year beemers that are not as tight, or quality 84-88 320 and 318i & is. I find more and more love for my SVX everyday, a very well designed high quality car that is already a classic, at least in my book. Sure it has a few flaws , but so does every other car under 200,000 , just like the beemer, whenever it breaks I will fix it, whatever it needs I will get it, it's my baby, it's very unique, IT IS SUBARU SVX , and its mine, so hands off

My sentiments exactly . . . except, I did see a Brat Turbo that looked interesting when I left the polling place this morning.

I can't really say that I'm a Subaru fan. They seem to be great cars in terms of reliability and practicality, but those looks. EEK! If I were looking for a new all wheel drive, I'd probably go with an Audi. Better looks than a Subaru, genuinely faster, and far less of them on the road.
I'm a huge Audi fan. from what owners have told me, they can take a seemingly endless amount of beating without the consequence of major mechanical failure. They've also given me the impression of being a damn tough car in terms of holding their ground in accidents. tAnd unlike most of today's sedans, Audi's are original in looks (TT excluded).
But that's just me. I think people should go with what they like and what they can afford.

i liked the SVX enough to get a WRX. i don't think i would have the time to take on 2 SVX's, besides, the wife doesn't like driving my SVX anyway. ain't that a shame, i feel terrible about it! i like all of Subaru's cars. i wish the Legacy had a little more juice, though (B4!) i even saw an all silver Baja the other day that looked really nice, compared to the 2-tone ones i've seen so far. my other favorite cars are Porsches, preferably the 8-cylinder variety. again, i just don't have the time to devote to one. nothing ever went wrong mechanically with mine, just little annoyances - dashboard gremlins, etc. i'm so picky that it just drove me crazy trying to get it perfect. i wanted one car that would go in any weather, have some decent performance, and get me to where i'm going in comfort and style. i spell it S-V-X

I own four Subarus, three that run. The fourth is really just waiting for me to get off my ass and have somebody haul away.

I love Subaru cars. Before Subaru, it was Toyota. I still love Toyota for reliability and build quality, but Subaru wins with their AWD.

If I bought another truck, it'd be a Toyota. When I buy more cars, they'll be Subarus. I challenge my loyalty constantly, but Subaru wins every time.

There are other cars I lust after like the SVX, like the BMW 850 or the Lotus Esprit, but unless Subaru makes some serious mistakes, they'll be my daily drivers for a long time to come.

toyotas are verrry reliable cars, the toyota supras are industructable,, twin turbos,,

for subaru ,, nothign really tickles my fancy but the svx,, is a totally difrent story,,, they went all out and it shows =>

if u slap a lotus stickers on a svx they wouldnt even know, =>

as for reliability , not too shure yet i owned one for a year or so now, the svx, and already had to replace the tranny ,, frount engine seal and right wheel bearing, but the car does have 90k on it, and i do drive it hard, so its iffy

but kuddos for subaru svx,,
