I don't have a pic, but they look just like what is on the front of the SVX, the rears on the XT6 are shocks with a coil spring on the outside.

On the air system, look on the front where the springs would be on a SVX and it will have an air bag instead of a spring, so if you look up in the wheel well and don't see a spring...it has the air system still in place.

Ah-haaa. Very descriptive! Thanks. I will keep that in mind when I go back to take another look at it with my mechanic (err...dad).

One more thing I forgot to check...what's the stock tire size on the XT6? I noticed the tires on the one I looked at are quite worn.

Well I went to take another look ar the XT6 today with my dad and got a much more thorough look at it.

It's a great car except for the engine. It does have 199,900 miles which in my eyes is a lot.

My dad says the crankshaft sounds like it's loose and rattling in addition to the lifters. The oil pressure gauge doesn't show any pressure but that's probably just the sending unit.

It shifts great and suspention doesn't make any noise. It has been converted to regular suspension from the air suspension.

It's still a US car and hasn't been officially imported to Canada. Does anyone know how much this usually costs? I know VKYKAM's SVX was imported so if he's reading this I hope he can help me on this question.

The owner is asking for CAD$1500 now which is around USD$950. I would pay this except I know that I (my dad) would need to rebuild/replace the engine before we can drive it.

The body is still great with only minor bumps & bruises (no rust). The power antenna doesn't work as well as the tape deck and headlight washers but I'm not concerned about that.

I know it's still a good deal for the car and I'm sure this would be a good parts car for the price. I'm just not sure how much will need to be put in the engine and other areas before it's drivable.

I am looking at an 87 xt6 with 91000 miles. It has a five speed, minimal rust and the interior looks clean. Didn't look at it thouroughly yet, but for $700 I will definitely be back.

There was no 87 XT-6. Only 88, 89, 91. If it's an 87, it's an XT Turbo.
